…light streaming through windows?
These are the shutters in my room in the house I grew up in. I love the way the louvers filter the light. I also like that the shutters themselves are raw and broken. They’re going on my Pinterest board; they’re a big backbone to my aesthetic.
…cold? I know I shouldn’t, because I live in LA, but there’s something about crisp air that makes me feel energized. And not guilty about bundling back under the covers to catch a few extra moments of shut eye.
…mornings? The day feels full of possibility and excitement.
…reading the paper? I’m jonesing for an IPad to read eveything on but I love reading the paper on Sundays. And don’t get me started on magazines.
…photographs? I’m still learning how to take pictures, how to capture what I see so I can share it with other people so I look at the pictures that other people take extra carefully wondering, is that what they see when they look out of their eyes?
…the sound of garbage trucks? Call me crazy but I love the sound of the grinding.
…sharing a meal and then picking at the communal plate at the end of the meal when everyone’s a little drunk?
…having dinner with people you haven’t seen in a long time, when a two hour dinner turns into something that closes down the restaurant?
…seeing people you know in a different city? It’s always a bit startling.
…being out somewhere and then you run into someone and you had no idea that they were going to be there too? I always feel startled when this happens even though by now it happens so frequently I shouldn’t be, but I am.
